The New Jersey School Boards Association will host its Leadership Conference: “Everyone Moving Forward Together!” on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Crowne Plaza in Plainsboro, New Jersey. Providing a forum for learning, networking and teamwork, this conference will inspire attendees to stay informed and empower them to make a positive impact in their districts.

“Restorative Circles: Engaging the Community” is an exciting, exclusively in-person action lab perfect for all school officials. The session will focus on restorative justice and cultivating a mindset and a set of practices based on relationships and accountability. Get insights on building community and relationships, preventing and addressing harm and conflict, and helping people positively reintegrate into school or a community after an extended absence.

Through discussion and watching a video, participants will learn about the positive impacts of restorative practices in schools and communities. Attendees will also participate in a  community building circle to learn how to leverage simple restorative practices to improve relationships, share ideas and engage community members.

A tentative agenda is now live, and more sessions will be added soon. View more information on the conference here.

This conference will last from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The fee for this conference is $99 for virtual attendees and $135 for in-person attendees. The program offers four Board Member Academy credits.
