The New Jersey Department of Education Office of Special Education is hosting a virtual roundtable discussion regarding the New Jersey Deaf Student’s Bill of Rights and the New Jersey Communication Plan Template for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind, according to an NJDOE advisory.

Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions regarding the New Jersey Deaf Student’s Bill of Rights and Communication Plan implementation. The roundtable is applicable for administrators, child study team members, speech/language specialists and education professionals who serve students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Three separate sessions are being offered virtually. Please register for one session.

  • Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Please be advised that there is no registration fee, but space is limited. Participants are encouraged to register via the NJDOE’s Calendar of Events as soon as possible, or by the Oct. 17, 2022, deadline.
