• Attendees enjoy the Bergen County School Boards Association's meeting on Oct. 3.

The Bergen County School Boards Association held a meeting Oct. 3 at Biagio’s Ristorante in Paramus.

Louis DeLisio, the interim executive county superintendent for Bergen County, delivered an update to members from the New Jersey Department of Education.

Michael Sprague, a board of directors delegate to the New Jersey School Boards Association, delivered an update to members; and Lester E. Taylor II with Taylor Law firm, presented a program titled “Parental Rights in Public Education.”

Jesse Young, legislative advocate for the New Jersey School Boards Association, attended virtually to provide an update on legislative developments and advocacy efforts.

Matt Lee, a field service representative with NJSBA, delivered a field services report; and Robert Acerra, county activities coordinator at NJSBA, highlighted NJSBA Connection, a centralized hub where school leaders can collaborate on projects and initiatives.

A variety of other important business was also carried out at the meeting.
