The New Jersey School Boards Association will host its annual Labor & Employment Summit on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

This virtual program will feature informative sessions covering critical labor and employment topics for school districts. Attendees will get the chance to connect with other school leaders while gaining new insights and strategies to navigate school employment issues.

The program will provide information and training on the parties’ obligations and rights during negotiations; costing out the current agreement, including salary guides and benefits; developing employer proposals and analyzing union demands; ways to use comparative data; and negotiation tactics. The day will conclude with an informative presentation about the New Jersey Public School Labor-Management Collaborative.

The virtual Labor & Employment Summit will feature sessions such as:

  • The PERC Law and the Negotiations Process.
  • Costing Out the Contract.
  • Comparative Data.
  • Negotiations Tactics and Proposals.
  • New Jersey Public School Labor Collaborative.

The program will run from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The member price is $99, and the non-member price is $199. This program offers three Board Member Academy Credits. Attendees must attend the entire conference to receive full credit.

Registration must be handled by your school business administrator. The registration deadline is 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
