In celebration of Arts in Education Week, Sept. 12-18, Arts Ed NJ has premiered a new short documentary “Beyond the Boundaries: Arts Education through a Pandemic.

In the documentary, educators share how their students adapted and pushed through the challenges of COVID-19 to emerge stronger than before. The short film showcases breathtaking student artwork and performances all created throughout the challenges and restrictions that the past year has necessitated. The documentary is a display of New Jersey arts students and educators’ resilience and ingenuity. It is an exploration of what happens when a community faces unique challenges and emerges even stronger than before.

“The arts have a powerful and positive role on a student’s academic career and life” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, NJSBA executive director. “This documentary is a reminder of the value—and necessity—of arts education in our schools, and a tribute to the creativity and buoyant spirit of our students and teachers during the pandemic.”
