It may only be 2019, but we are already gearing up for an exciting new feature at Workshop 2020!

The New Jersey School Boards Association is teaming up with the Garden State Film Festival, Artists Alike Studios, the New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission and Steven Van Zandt’s TeachRock initiative and Rock and Roll Forever Foundation on a new student submission category for the Garden State Film Festival.

Garden State Film Festival Submissions Please encourage the students in your district to submit entries to the Garden State Film Festival in the new “New Jersey Hometown Documentary Short” category. This category is reserved for works that are written, directed, and shot by New Jersey public school students. Films must be five minutes or less and must focus on some aspect of their hometown, that profiles an interesting person, place, time period or subject who is related to the arts. Students are encouraged to submit entries either on their own or through their schools by Jan. 9, 2020 for the 2020 Garden State Film Festival.

The top submissions selected by the Garden State Film Festival and Artists Alike Studios will be screened at the Student Film Festival at Workshop 2020.
