TRENTON, June 8, 2018—Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, executive director of the New Jersey School Boards Association, today issued the following statement in response to the state Senate’s confirmation of Dr. Lamont Repollet as Commissioner of Education:

As a local school district administrator and acting commissioner of education, Dr. Repollet has established himself as a genuine advocate for New Jersey’s public school students. He is open to dialogue with local education officials and has an appreciation of their perspective and concerns.

The New Jersey School Boards Association congratulates Dr. Repollet on his confirmation as Commissioner of Education. We look forward to working with him as we address the complex issues of academic standards, testing, funding and the safety and security of our students.
