Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law a school security initiative that directs all public and nonpublic schools in the state to submit critical incident mapping data to local law enforcement in an electronic format. The Senate Education Committee and Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee also met to approve various education measures.

The New Jersey School Boards Association held another successful program on the 3 Rs: Roles, Responsibilities and Resources – a regional informational program for new and not-so-new board members, on Thursday, Dec. 1 at Hammonton High School.
Positions that will be open are the presidency and three vice presidencies. The election will take place on May 13, 2023, at the NJSBA Delegate Assembly. All offices are two-year terms, May 2023-May 2025.
