Submissions for student performances at Workshop 2023 are now open. The New Jersey School Boards Association is looking for students to sing, dance, perform music and show off other talents to energize the audience at the annual Workshop conference.
Sponsored by NJSBA, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators, and the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, Workshop is the largest training conference for school officials in the Garden State. To highlight the NJSBA’s commitment to the arts, and the talent and skills of New Jersey public school students, Workshop will showcase several student performances throughout the conference.
The event will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center from Monday through Thursday, Oct. 23-26, 2023. Selected students will perform during the conference on Oct. 24 or 25.
This is a great opportunity to spotlight your talented students in front of education leaders from across New Jersey. Research links involvement in the fine and performing arts to improved school attendance and increased academic performance. Arts education is also correlated with positive social-emotional development in students.
NJSBA urges the art department at your school to submit an application to perform at the annual Workshop conference. Performance groups are limited to a maximum of 15 students. All submissions will receive equal consideration. The deadline for receiving the completed Student Performance Submission Form is May 5, 2023.
Workshop RegistrationFrom now until June 30, 2023, registrants can secure the special early-bird group rate of $2,100 for 25 team members. The regular group registration rate of $2,200 goes into effect Friday, July 1. Districts may include the school board, business administrator, superintendent, facilities managers, curriculum professionals, IT staff, principals, human resource professionals, educators and other district staff in their group registration.
