Students’ heightened social and emotional needs are among the many challenges New Jersey school districts have been grappling with since last March when the coronavirus pandemic closed the state’s schools to in-person learning.

The current issue of School Leader magazine features a special section on social-emotional learning (SEL), including articles on what one school district is doing to add services, the connection between arts education and SEL, and how an SEL trainer had to practice what she teaches in building resilience.

Virtual Workshop 2020 The magazine also provides a sneak peek at Virtual Workshop 2020, which debuts next week. The online conference will feature more than 100 training sessions, exciting keynote speakers and student arts performances, an interactive exhibit floor, and an opportunity for online networking with other attendees.  Training programs will be available to registrants for a full year.

School Leader is online here, and mailed to all board of education members.
