The Warren County School Boards Association (WCSBA) met in May at The Architect’s Golf Club in Phillipsburg. WCSBA President Lisa Marshall, of the Warren Hills Regional School Board called the meeting to order and welcomed attendees, both virtually and in person, to the final meeting of the school year. 

Daryle Weiss, principal of Harmony Township School, introduced Jennifer Mazziotta-Walter, the 2024-25 Warren County Teacher of the Year. Mazziotta-Walter is a visual arts and gifted and talented teacher in the Harmony Township School District. She shared a powerful message about what every school board member should understand from the perspective of a teacher.

Harrison Silver, legislative advocate at the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), provided an update from the NJSBA Advocacy Team, while Kelly Mitchell, an NJSBA field services representative, shared insights from the NJSBA field services team. Jaclyn Rowbotham, an alternate on the NJSBA Board of Directors, updated attendees on the events from the last NJSBA board meeting. 

Robert Acerra, the county activities coordinator at NJSBA, presented milestone awards and acknowledged the achievements of board of education members in Warren County. This year, twelve board members were recognized for their collective 190 years of service to their communities.

  • Jennifer Knittel (Washington Township) – 2nd Vice President for Legislation

2025-27 Warren County SBA Officers The newly elected officers are Jennifer Knittel of Washington Township as 2nd Vice President for Legislation, Rudolph DiGilio of Franklin Township as 1st Vice President, and Lisa Marshall of Warren Hills Regional as President.

Tammeisha Smith, the outgoing 2nd Vice President for Legislation, was thanked for her service over the past two years and received best wishes for her upcoming term as president of NJSBA. Acerra conducted the elections and administered the oath of office for Marshall, DiGilio, and Knittel. 

Lisa Marshall, the President of the Warren County SBA for 2023-2027, closed the meeting and shared some closing remarks.
