The Belvidere Public School District Board of Education is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking educational leader, who will honor our proud traditions and bring our District to new heights, to serve as our next Superintendent.
Our District is located in beautiful, rural, western Warren County in northwestern New Jersey. Students in the Belvidere School District are able to explore widely diverse interests simultaneously, including rich arts and music opportunities, our nationally-recognized Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, which is one of the most successful FFA programs in the State, and a variety of popular sports and extracurricular activities.
The virtue of community service is ingrained in Belvidere. Our students go above and beyond to help our community members, whether in civic organizations or via service opportunities provided by the District. We are a small community with a lot of heart, and we are exceptionally proud of our well-rounded students.
We are looking for a Superintendent who will be an excellent communicator with our community. This person must be proactive rather than reactive, and skilled in setting, executing, and evaluating short- and long-term strategic goals. We are looking for a creative problem-solver who is able to instill a spirit of engagement and purpose with his or her team, while exhibiting and engendering a high level of accountability in our faculty, staff, and students. The Superintendent of the Belvidere School District must be above all an individual who enthusiastically forms and sustains authentic, productive relationships with all of our stakeholders and partnerships with our leaders in our local academic community who can help our District grow in success.
Our District serves approximately 600 students from PreK through twelfth grade in two distinct schools housed in one building. Students from the adjacent communities of Hope, White, and Harmony attend Belvidere High School in a send/receive relationship. Our budget is $12m. We employ approximately 100 employees, and our administrative team currently comprises four individuals: a Superintendent, a PreK-12 Principal, a Director of Education and a shared Business Administrator. The Superintendent role we are hiring for will be a dual role depending upon the finalist’s skill set and subject to the finalist’s and Board’s agreement.
NJ School Administrator Certificate or CE is required. Candidates should have strong knowledge of special education, curriculum and instruction, and academic achievement; teaching experience preferred. Successful experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Director /Supervisor, and/or school principal strongly preferred.
