The Glen Rock Public School District Board of Education seeks an accomplished and visionary educational leader to serve as its next Superintendent of Schools. Located in western Bergen County, Glen Rock is a highly regarded suburban community consistently ranked among New Jersey’s best places to live. Glen Rock is a high-performing PreK–12 district where students are regularly recognized as New Jersey Scholars, Advanced Placement Scholars, and National Merit Finalists. More than 98% of our high school graduates attend college. Our District offers a rigorous academic program, extensive Advanced Placement opportunities, and strong arts, athletics, and community service programs. Two of our schools have been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools (2018 and 2024), and Glen Rock Middle/High School was designated a No Place for Hate School in 2023–2024.

The Board seeks a collaborative, forward-thinking leader with exceptional communication skills, a systems perspective, and the ability to build authentic relationships through transparency and trust. The successful candidate will have experience in strategic planning, evaluating organizational effectiveness, and leading continuous improvement efforts that advance student achievement. Most importantly, the Superintendent of Glen Rock Public Schools will provide visionary leadership and innovative, inspiring programming that fosters a strong sense of community and pride, and prepares all Glen Rock students for success in school and in life.

The district serves approximately 2500 students in four neighborhood elementary schools, along with a middle school and comprehensive high school on a shared campus which also houses our pK classes and The Glen Rock Community School, a vibrant community hub of learning. The district’s annual budget of approximately $68.4 million supports 274 certificated staff, 24 non-certificated staff, and 24 administrators.

Qualifications:

  • New Jersey School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility required.
  • Minimum of five years of successful school district administrative experience required; Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent experience preferred.
  • Ten or more years of teaching experience strongly preferred

Position start date:  January, 2027 (flexible)

The Board expects to offer a salary in the range of $175K to $255K and a competitive benefits package including sick leave, vacation days, personal days, health insurance, dental insurance, and professional membership dues, to be determined.  It is anticipated that the total compensation package will be regionally competitive and will be based on successful experience and education, and shall be subject to approval by the Bergen County Executive County Superintendent and the Glen Rock Board of Education.
