Job Posting: Superintendent
The Ocean County Vocational Technical School District is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic educational leader to serve as Superintendent. This position plays a key role in advancing the district’s mission to provide innovative, career-focused educational opportunities that prepare students for college, career, and lifelong success.
Position Overview
The Superintendent supports the Board and District in providing leadership, vision, and strategic direction for all instructional and operational programs within the district. The successful candidate will collaborate with administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners to ensure high-quality vocational and technical education programs that align with industry standards, postsecondary pathways, and state and federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate instructional programs, curricula, and career and technical education initiatives.
- Supervise and support principals, directors, and program administrators in achieving district goals.
- Oversee federal, state, and grant-funded programs to ensure compliance and maximize resources.
- Lead strategic planning efforts related to student achievement, workforce development, and innovation in technical education.
- Support professional development and build leadership capacity among staff.
- Foster relationships with business, industry, higher education, and community stakeholders to enhance opportunities for students.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and board policies.
Qualifications
- New Jersey School Administrator Certificate (or eligibility).
- Advanced degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful administrative leadership experience, preferably in a vocational-technical or career-focused education setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, instructional leadership, and CTE program requirements.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and oversee large-scale educational initiatives.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
