The ideal candidate is an accomplished school leader who has demonstrated excellence in communicating with staff, families, and the broader community. The successful candidate must be a student-centered leader with strong financial judgment and the ability to lead through challenging fiscal circumstances while maintaining educational excellence. Knowledge of school finance, budget development, resource management, and strategic decision-making is essential. The Board is seeking a leader who will be visible in the community and engage openly with stakeholders, building a strong foundation of trust.
Evesham Township is a thriving suburban pre-K-8 district in Burlington County, New Jersey, and is committed to academic excellence and student success. With over 4,800 students, the district employs a dedicated staff of 886 professionals, including 21 administrators, and 396 certified teachers across 8 schools. The district operates with a budget of $112 million. Students in grades 9-12 attend Cherokee High School.
Leadership Priorities:
The successful candidate will:
• Advance student-centered teaching and learning through effective curriculum, instructional leadership and decision-making, focused on building a strong foundation for every student.
• Provide sound financial and operational leadership, including budget development and oversight and the ability to make strategic decisions during periods of fiscal challenges.
• Evaluate organizational structure, staffing, programs and administrative practices with objectivity, transparency, and a focus on what best serves students.
• Build confidence and trust by collaborating with the Board of Education, staff, families, and taxpayers and communicating clearly and effectively the reasons behind decisions.
• Foster a positive organizational culture by supporting staff, strengthening accountability, and promoting growth through effective professional development.
• Provide strategic, decisive leadership grounded in integrity, informed decision-making, collaboration and consensus-building.
Qualifications:
• New Jersey School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility required
• A minimum of 5 years of prior successful experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Building Administrator, or Central Office Administrator required
• Earned Doctorate preferred
• Experience in a district of similar size, complexity, and community profile preferred
Compensation:
The Board of Education expects to offer a salary in the range of $215,000 to $230,000 and a competitive benefits package that may include sick leave, vacation days, personal days, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, retirement contributions, professional membership dues, and travel expense reimbursements. It is anticipated that the total compensation package will be regionally competitive and based on successful experience and education. The initial contract will be for a multi-year period, as authorized by New Jersey statute.
