The Swedesboro-Woolwich Board of Education is seeking an educational leader who is deeply committed to academic excellence, strong relationships, and a nurturing Pre-K through 6 grade learning environment. The Swedesboro‑Woolwich School District serves a community that blends rich farmland with a growing suburban population. The district operates four grade‑level schools and proudly serves 1,600 students with a dedicated staff of 270 employees, supported by a $37 million budget. Middle and high school students attend the Kingsway Regional School District.

Leadership Priorities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of Curriculum & Instruction, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs.
  • Exercise sound fiscal management, with expertise in budget oversight and identifying alternative funding opportunities.
  • Execute effective personnel management, including hiring top talent and motivating, developing, and evaluating staff.
  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and authentically with the Board of Education, staff, parents, and the community.

Qualifications:

  • New Jersey School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility required
  • Successful experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Central Office Administrator or Principal in an elementary setting preferred
  • Classroom teaching experience required
  • Experience in preparation and execution of strategic and long-range facility planning
  • Knowledge of New Jersey School Law and Regulations

Compensation:

The Board of Education expects to offer a salary in the range of $163,000 to $170,000 and a competitive benefits package including sick leave, vacation days, personal days, health insurance, dental / vision insurance, life insurance, retirement contributions, professional membership dues, and travel expense reimbursements.  It is anticipated that the total compensation package will be regionally competitive and based on successful experience and education.  The initial contract will be for a multi-year period, as authorized by New Jersey statute.
