NJSBA has developed a list of resources for districts that have suffered the loss of a school community member in the COVID-19 pandemic. The resource includes a county-by-county listing of contacts for the Traumatic Loss Coalitions for Youth, which provides response assistance to schools following sudden losses. The group also offers training, consultation and technical assistance. The guide, “After a Loss: Resources for School Districts,” also links to other mental health resources and to crisis communications templates for district use. In addition, NJSBA’s COVID-19 Resource Center includes frequent updates about the public health emergency and additional resources to help safeguard the emotional well-being of students, school staff and families.
