• NJDOE Issues Notice of Grant Opportunity to Support Climate Change Education

  The NJDOE is releasing a third grant opportunity to further advance the implementation of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in support of climate change education.

• New Jersey Awards $42M to Fund Preschool Facilities Projects

  Gov. Phil Murphy and Acting Education Commissioner Kevin Dehmer announced the award of over $42 million in federal grant funding to build and expand preschool facilities in 22 New Jersey school districts.

• U.S. Department of Education Calls on Schools to Adopt Policies for Student Use of Cell Phones and Personal Devices

  The U.S. Department of Education issued a news release calling on every state, district and school to adopt policies that guide the use of student personal devices in schools, and also made available a new resource,  “Planning Together: A Playbook for Student Personal Device Policies.”

  

• Sussex County School Boards Association Highlights Youth Substance Use and Prevention Resources

  SCSBA President Wayne Dunn welcomed approximately 65 attendees, both in-person and virtually, including 17 newly elected board of education members who participated in a 3Rs training session before the county meeting.
