Bergen County

Bergen County School Boards Association aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of the local board of education members throughout Bergen County. BCSBA is a forum for exchanging information and ideas and a catalyst to expedite and initiate action.

The county school boards association meetings are opportunities for board members to receive professional development and up-to-date information on current education initiatives, legislation, and public school regulations. The meetings enable board members to stay connected and work together to advance the achievement of all public school students in New Jersey.

Archie F. Hay Award-This award is presented to a Bergen County School Board Member who, in the opinion of an impartial committee, made up of board members from outside of Bergen County, best exemplifies Dr. Hay’s leadership and commitment.

Janet S. Lobsenz Award- The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual board member who exemplifies Janet’s strong commitment to personal and professional development and her involvement in school governance at the local, county and state levels.
