Gov. Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 203 on Wednesday evening, postponing all special school elections from Jan. 26, 2021 to the Tuesday, March 9, 2021 special school election date. The governor had previously, in Executive Order 177, postponed the special school election scheduled for Dec. 8 until the January 2021 date.
“Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we must continue to ensure that elections are held in a manner that ensures that every citizen is able to vote while conserving time and resources,” said Murphy. “This change will allow special school elections scheduled for the first quarter of next year to be held on the same day, minimizing the burden on elections officials.”
