Don Webster Immediate Past President
Manchester Township School Board President Donald Webster, Jr. assumed the role of New Jersey School Boards Association Immediate Past President upon completion of his term as the organization’s president at the organization’s semi-annual Delegate Assembly on May 20, 2017.
During his two-and-a-half year term as president of NJSBA, Webster was instrumental in advancing the Association’s efforts in areas such as school security and student safety, sustainable practices, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics) education.
Webster’s successor is Daniel Sinclair of the Lakeland Regional Board of Education in Passaic County, who was sworn in at the organization’s semi-annual Delegate Assembly on Saturday.
A 20-year member of the Manchester board, Webster has served on the NJSBA Executive Committee since 2010, having held two terms as vice president for finance. He was elected president in November 2014.
Webster, who earned the designations of Certified Board Leader and Master Board Member through the NJSBA Board Member Academy, has been active on the federal level as well. He has served on the National School Boards Association’s nominating committee and in the Federal Relations Network, which advocates the interests of public education before Congress and federal agencies.
Webster retired from his position as assistant director of the Office of Budget Planning and Fiscal Monitoring in the New Jersey Department of Human Services in 2009. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from James Madison University in Virginia, and his MBA in Financial Management from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Business.
A lifelong New Jersey resident, he is married with three adult children who all attended Manchester Township public schools.
