Each year, students in the Trades program at Hawthorne High School put their skills to work to make a positive impact on their school community as part of their hands-on learning experience.
Trades students work throughout the grounds of Hawthorne High School, helping to beautify and maintain the campus. Their work includes mulching landscaped areas, improving the appearance of the school grounds, and maintaining spaces that are enjoyed by students and staff.

The students also dedicate their time and skills to enhancing the school’s outdoor classroom courtyard. Through their efforts, this unique learning environment is maintained and improved, providing students and teachers with an inviting space for learning and collaboration outside of the traditional classroom.

This annual project is a wonderful example of students applying practical skills while developing a sense of pride, responsibility, and service to their school. Their work makes a visible difference throughout the Hawthorne High School campus and demonstrates that learning extends well beyond the classroom.
