In accordance with New Jersey School Boards Association bylaws, a proposed slate of officers selected by the Nominating Committee will be presented to the delegates for their vote at the Delegate Assembly on May 6, 2026.

The Nominating Committee selected the following school board member for election by the delegates to serve as a NJSBA officer from 2025-2027:

  • Vice President for Legislation/Resolutions – Charles Caraballo, Bloomingdale Board of Education (Passaic)

According to guidelines set by the NJSBA board of directors, candidates for NJSBA officer positions are to receive publicity in School Board Notes. The following information below is provided by the candidate, Charles Caraballo.

Over the years, he has donated his time as a small group leader at NJSBA’s New Board Member Orientation Weekend.

From 2021 to 2025, he served as president of the Passaic County School Boards Association, where he was vice president from 2017-2021. He has taken pride in playing a leading role in starting and expanding the PCSBA’s Unsung Heroes program.

In 2024, he was named NJSBA Board Member of the Year.

Over the years, he said he has enjoyed the challenges of working at the county and state levels to help students and school districts throughout the state. He has been a member of the NJSBA Legislative Committee since 2017 to the present, as well as a past member of the Resolution Subcommittee, which he said was one more way for him to network with other stakeholders to engage in advocacy.
