STEAM Tank Challenge Logo

The STEAM Tank Challenge, created by the New Jersey School Boards Association, encourages education in STEAM – science, technology, engineering, arts, and math – for New Jersey’s public-school students.

STEAM Tank encourages student teams to work collaboratively to identify and develop innovative solutions to issues such as climate change and the environment, societal problems, and situations which need resolution in our schools, communities, state, and globally. Students are asked to solve a real-world problem, invent something new, or modify an existing product. Many student-created solutions have the potential to end up in the marketplace to help address technology, the environment, or social injustice.

The program is designed to inspire, engage, and motivate students to help build problem solving skills, collaborate with their peers, connect with expert mentors, and promote student achievement. These points allow learning to extend beyond the four walls of the classroom.
