Recently, the New Jersey Department of Education released their Educator Evaluation Guidance, which is an evaluation system that supports effective teaching, promotes continuous improvement, and helps ensure high quality learning experiences for all students. Training to Support Evaluation Guidance Implementation

Workshop Description: Join the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of Educator Effectiveness for a practical and interactive workshop that brings the updated educator evaluation guidance to life. Designed for both administrators and teachers, this session explores how to use the recently released guidance to strengthen implementation, reduce burden, and elevate professional growth.

Participants will:

1) Gain a clear understanding of evaluation requirements and where local flexibility exists.

2) Explore real-world examples of how evaluation components (training, goal setting, observations, data use) can be customized for maximum impact.

3) Engage in guided think-pair-share and planning activities to assist in local implementation.

4) Learn how to integrate SGOs, PDPs, and observations for greater alignment and educator support.

5) Leave with tools and ideas to make their evaluation system more meaningful, less burdensome and focused on educator growth.
