On Wednesday, May 13, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) announced the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school year assessment schedules, which can be found on NJDOE’s Assessment webpage under the “Resources” section.

Notably, dedicated make-up windows have been removed to provide districts with flexibility in scheduling their statewide testing. Additionally, the expansion of the testing windows allows districts to schedule around any day they may be closed. In creating their testing schedule, districts must account for a regular administration date for each student as well as a make-up administration opportunity for each student. Districts should not wait until the last week in the window to begin their make-up testing; rather, make-up testing may begin at any time during the testing window.
