On Wednesday, May 27, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) Office of Special Education (OSE) announced the release of its 2026 Local Special Education Profiles and Determinations, reflecting data from the 2024-2025 school year. In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), these reports support annual public reporting on each district’s performance aligned to the State Performance Plan (SPP) and Annual Performance Report (APR). 

Special Education Data Reporting 

Annual determinations for each LEA are based on SPP/APR indicator performance using the following categories: meets requirements, needs assistance, needs intervention, needs substantial intervention, as specified in IDEA Part B regulations, Section 300.603(b)(1).
