The Battle of the Counties is a new statewide competition that encourages increased engagement and participation in NJSBA and County School Boards Association activities. Can the school districts in your county work together to be crowned the winner?
This annual challenge will run from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Board members are asked to work collaboratively to increase their district’s attendance and participation at select events and programs throughout the year.
“The Battle of the Counties has generated tremendous excitement across New Jersey,” NJSBA President Michael Jacobs said. “We’re seeing county pride, friendly competition and most importantly, greater member engagement. Board members are talking about it, counties are rallying their teams and everyone wants to know who will take home the trophy. Let the battle begin!”
Districts will be categorized into three divisions based on size. The winning county in each division will receive a large commemorative trophy, an exclusive digital badge, a feature on NJSBA’s social media, and much more!
