NJSBA Announces Student Performance Selections for Workshop 2026

The New Jersey School Boards Association will proudly highlight a variety of student performances during its upcoming Workshop conference, held from Oct. 19-22 in Atlantic City. This year’s performances will provide board members, district staff, and leaders in education from throughout the state, with memorable entertainment during the four-day annual professional training conference.

In the spring, the NJSBA issued a call for student performances, and received entries from public schools throughout the state. The winners, selected by an Association panel, will demonstrate their talents and skills in front of thousands of attendees.

Camden County Technical Schools – Gloucester Twp. Campus Piano Duet

Luke Varghese and Brennan Caltzalco-Montellano are both sophomores at Camden County Technical Schools in Sicklerville, NJ. They are both sensational pianists and passionate musicians. During their time at CCTS, they have performed several piano solos for concerts and recitals.

Pinelands Regional High School Performing Arts

Pinelands Regional is known for Theatre Arts. Over the past two decades, the Pinelands Thespians have been awarded the coveted “Governor’s Award” each year in various theatre arts categories for their excellence in performance. This year, in addition to awards for Dramatic Pairs and Comedic Monologue, their musical theatre group also won the award at the NJ State Thespian Festival. Known for their commitment to excellence and their professionalism, the performers of the Pinelands Thespians will perform “The March: We Demand Equality” from the musical Suffs. Although set in the age of the Suffragettes, the piece is as timely as ever and has been performed at The NJ State Thespian Festival, both the Ocean County and State Teen Arts Festivals, as well as the NJSBA Women in Leadership Conference.

South Brunswick High School String Quintet

 Composed of five talented 11th-grade musicians, this string quintet features members of South Brunswick High School’s premier ensemble, the A.P. Chamber Orchestra. Rehearsing together through the winter months, the group explores a wide range of repertoire, from timeless classical masterworks to modern chamber compositions.

Linden High School Madrigals

The Linden High School Madrigals, under the direction of Howard Whitmore, are an auditioned ensemble of talented student singers who reflect the diversity, excellence, and spirit of Linden Public Schools. Through the artistry of a cappella music, these dedicated young musicians bring stories to life, exploring a rich repertoire that spans centuries, cultures, and musical styles.

United by a passion for choral singing, the Madrigals celebrate the power of harmony to inspire, connect, and move audiences. Each performance showcases the ensemble’s commitment to musical excellence, artistic expression, and meaningful storytelling.

Throughout the school year, the Linden High School Madrigals proudly share their voices at a variety of school and community events, serving as ambassadors for both their school and the greater Linden community.

Middle Township Dance Team

Representing Middle Township High School, the Competition Dance Team provides students with opportunities to grow as performers, leaders, and members of their community. The team competed under the Universal Dance Association, traveling to regional events in Philadelphia and earning the opportunity to compete nationally at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. Beyond UDA, the team proudly participates in the Teen Arts Festival and advanced to the New Jersey State Teen Arts Festival. Throughout the year, the dancers performed at Philadelphia 76ers games, school pep rallies, and various athletic events. They also enhanced their training through Stockton University’s Experiment Dance Day and Cape-Atlantic Dance Day alongside dancers from schools across Cape May and Atlantic counties. Dedicated to giving back, the team volunteers with the MASK Program and supports numerous community events throughout the season.

NJSBA offers a group registration rate of $2,400 for 25 team members, which may include the school board, business administrator, superintendent, facilities managers, curriculum professionals, IT staff, principals, human resource professionals, librarians and other district staff. Individual registration is $550. Registration must be handled by your school business administrator.
