NJSBA is excited to launch the NJSBA Good News program, which will highlight outstanding district achievements and showcase your staff and students’ successes.
“At a time when public education is navigating unprecedented challenges, it is important to celebrate what is working. Every day, New Jersey schools are changing lives, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for students,” said Dr. Timothy Purnell, NJSBA executive director/CEO.
“The NJSBA Good News initiative will help share those stories and remind the public of the tremendous value and impact of our public schools.”
Below are a few examples of news you may submit:
- Perfect student attendance (one year, two years, entire school career, etc.);
- Teacher-led after-school program providing mentorship and tutoring for students;
- Garden project(s) to benefit school community;
- Grant(s) awarded funding school programs;
- Student collaboration: launch a pet supply program, food collection, and community service;
- Teachers donate their time to build and maintain an outdoor reading library.
Acts of excellence and inspiring achievements occur every day in our schools. Together, we will highlight the positive impact these efforts have on students and communities.

Once received, our staff will review and respond to your school’s superintendent to confirm the content. Good News stories will be promoted on NJSBA’s website and social media.
