Daniel Giuseppe Piccioni, Boonton Board of Education member, passed away on Sept. 24, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer.

Born in Canada, Daniel made Boonton his lifelong home, serving many roles within the community. In addition to being a board member, he served as a member of the Boonton Fire Department’s South Boonton Hose and Engine Company #3. Daniel also previously served as fire commissioner, Ward 3 alderman, and Parks and Recreation liaison.

A graduate of Lincoln Technical School, Daniel was a masterful automotive technician. During his time as a technical support manager for Volkswagen Automotive Group, his expertise, patience, and willingness to mentor others left a lasting imprint on colleagues and customers alike.

A man of many talents, Daniel was a musician, beginning with Harmony Drum Corps of Boonton, where he played the fife, and later served in the color guard. Daniel was also an 8th-degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate, and a motorcyclist.

Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Lina and Italo Piccioni. He is survived by his beloved fiancé, Susan, his cherished brothers, David and Christopher, his nephews, Anthony, Christopher, Dale and his wife Heather, and his great nephew Eli.
