January 2026 is the 24th annual School Board Recognition Month in New Jersey, a time to raise public awareness of the role and responsibilities of local boards of education and to thank school board members throughout the state.
In addition to multiple voting sessions, several committees also met at the State House and advanced noteworthy legislation.
The Department of Education recently provided local educational agencies (LEAs), public school accountants, and public school auditors with important updates regarding submission of Fiscal Year 2024-2025 audit reports.
