TRENTON, Oct., 13, 2026 – New Jersey School Boards Association  has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2026 honor by The Philadelphia Inquirer. This list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute, to name a few..

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

“Being named a Top Place to Work is an incredible honor, but the recognition belongs to our staff; my work family,” said Timothy Purnell, NJSBA executive director / CEO.

“I believe the strongest organizations are built when people know they matter, when every voice is heard, and when everyone has an opportunity to contribute to our success. That is the culture we work hard to create at NJSBA. It’s also why we launched SparkTank, giving every employee a direct way to bring forward innovative ideas that can make us more efficient, more effective and better at what we do. Purnell continued.

What makes me most proud is the way our staff supports one another while never losing sight of the people we serve… New Jersey’s boards of education and the 1.4 million students they represent. Our employees bring their talent, ideas and commitment to that mission every day.

This recognition reflects them. I am incredibly proud of my work family and grateful to serve alongside people who care so deeply about one another, our members and the students of New Jersey.”
