As the new school year gets underway, student teachers will be in place in many of New Jersey’s public schools. This year, new requirements will govern the evaluation and experience of candidates for education degrees. They include a full year of student teaching, as well as the video recording of the student teacher’s performance. “Education Matters,” NJSBA’s video series, explores Changes in the Student Teaching Process in New Jersey  with Peter Shulman, deputy commissioner of education/chief talent and performance officer for the New Jersey Department of Education, and Chelsea Collins, the 2016 New Jersey Teacher of the Year.
