New Jersey’s Educator Evaluation Review Task Force will host a virtual hearing Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. to gather input from educators, families, students and other stakeholders on the issues being studied by the task force, the New Jersey Department of Education announced in an advisory.
Legislation requires the task force to consider the current context of the TEACHNJ law (P.L.2012, c.26) in the state’s schools, identify areas for improvement and make any recommendations regarding the annual evaluation process for teachers, principals, assistant principals and vice principals. The insight gained from the sessions may be incorporated into the task force’s final report.
Individuals interested in providing public testimony may register for the hearing (see details below). Registration is required by Aug. 26, 2024, at 5 p.m. Anyone seeking to provide public testimony should also submit a written statement via email.
Should an individual not be able to participate in the live hearing, they are still encouraged to submit written testimony via email.
