Nominations have been announced for the New Jersey School Boards Association’s sponsored student film category, “N.J. Hometown Documentary Short (under 5 minutes)” in the annual Garden State Film Festival.
The four-day festival draws over 15,000 people to Asbury Park each year. This year, it will be held from March 21- 24.
The nominated films will be screened at the 2024 NJSBA Workshop at the Student Film Showcase movie theater on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 22-23. Further details, including the exact time, will be announced at a later date.
The films will also be screened at the Garden State Film Festival on Saturday, March 23 at 9:15 a.m. in the “Student Block” of films at the Berkeley Carteret Hotel in Asbury Park.
One student winner will be announced at the festival’s Awards Gala on March 24. That student’s district will receive $500 from the NJSBA to support TV/film programs at their school.
