The Passaic County School Boards Association held a meeting Nov. 30 at Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology in Paterson.
PCSBA thanks Ali Riza Gurcanli, Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology lead person; Matt A. Anar, business administrator, Legna Garcia Rodriguez, board president; and various staff for serving as great hosts for the meeting.
Charles Caraballo, PCSBA president, welcomed the nearly 40 attendees in person and virtually, including the 15 newly elected board of education members who attended the 3Rs training before the meeting.
The Clifton School District was awarded a 2023 NJSBA School Leader Award for its “IMPACT Program.” Caraballo recognized the 20 “retiring” board of education members from Passaic County who represented 139 years of service to the students and districts in Passaic County.
Ray Pinney, NJSBA’s lead director, member training and engagement, introduced Kelly Mitchell, an NJSBA field service representative, who was attending her first PCSBA meeting.
Dr. Tom Connors, NJSBA’s vice president for finance, shared greetings from the NJSBA officers. Alan Paris, a board of directors delegate to the Association, delivered an update to members; and representatives from the Clifton School District presented an interactive program titled “School District Safety and Security.” The team included, Dr. Danny Robertozzi, superintendent of schools; Mark Gengaro, assistant superintendent of schools; and Meaghan Zinola, director of district safety and security.
A variety of other important business was also carried out at the meeting.
