While Tuesday, Sept. 27, had been designated as one of the dates in 2022 that school boards could schedule a board referendum election, that date has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 6.
The date was revised pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:60-2 due to a conflict with a period of religious observance. This year, Rosh Hashanah begins Sunday, Sept. 25 and ends Tuesday, Sept. 27. Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
You may access the revised Election Calendar through the link on the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of School Finance website. For all other election types, the calendar has not changed from the original version.
