The Warren County School Boards Association held a meeting Nov. 29 at the Warren County Technical School in Washington Township.
WCSBA thanks Warren County Technical School Superintendent Derrick Forsythe, Patrick Lilly, culinary arts instructor chef; the culinary arts students and various staff for serving as great hosts for the meeting.
Lisa Marshall, WCSBA president, welcomed the nearly 65 attendees in person and virtually, including the 20 newly elected board of education members who attended the 3Rs training before the meeting.
Dr. Rosalie S. Lamonte, the interim executive county superintendent for Warren County, delivered an update to members from the New Jersey Department of Education. Gwen Thornton, director, field services and a field service representative with the New Jersey School Boards Association, delivered a field services report.
Marshall also recognized the 22 “retiring” board of education members from Warren County who represented 118 years of service to the students and districts in Warren County.
Paul Williams, a board of directors delegate to the NJSBA, delivered an update to members; Tammy Smith, WCSBA’s second vice president for legislation, delivered a legislative update to members and a Partner in Education law firm hosted a series of roundtables geared toward starting off 2024 right. The moderators were Robert Devaney, an associate at Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli & Tipton LLC; Thornton; and Ray Pinney, NJSBA’s lead director of member training and engagement.
A variety of other important business was also carried out at the meeting.
