REPORTS TO: Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s degree
  2. New Jersey School Administrator/Certificate of Eligibility
  3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching or related educational experienced in curriculum development and school administration as determined by the Board of Trustees
  4. Demonstrates ability to work effectively in the areas of personnel management, school administration and supervision of programs and staff
  5. Experience with teacher evaluations and implementing teacher improvement plans
  6. Demonstrates ability to take direction and guidance from the Executive Director
  7. Demonstrates ability to be a team player and is comfortable delegating responsibilities
  8. Demonstrates competency with educational software
  9. Demonstrates ability to manage multiple deadlines
  10. Demonstrates ability to think and act strategically
  11. Demonstrates a passion for student and staff growth
  12. Knowledge of the learning and emotional needs of the special needs students
  13. Has a basic understanding of the CST and components of the IEP
  14. Has some knowledge of various behavior modification techniques
  15. Open to grow and expand competencies on all levels
  16. Strong leadership and communication skills
  17. Keen analytical and problem-solving abilities
  18. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

To assist the Executive Director by providing leadership to the professional staff to plan, implement, articulate, and evaluate all instructional programs and school operations.

DUTIES:

  1. Assists the Executive Director in supervising the school’s instructional programs and school services.
  2. Evaluates the operation of the schools and makes recommendations to the Executive Director for changes in policy, as necessary.
  3. Assists with the preparation and administration of the instructional accounts of the school budget.
  4. Provide leadership and guidance in process of curriculum planning, coordination and evaluation.
  5. Assumes the responsibilities for administering the school in the absence of the Executive Director.
  6. Assists in the planning and administration of an effective system for recruitment, selection, evaluation, and staff development for professional personnel.
  7. Develops and administers programs that foster appropriate standard behavior.
  8. Review drafts of needed board policies and administrative rules for the Executive Director’s review and/or board action.
  9. Participate in the selection and recommendation for adoption of all textbooks and supplemental instructional materials.
  10. Establishes necessary procedures for referral and cooperative planning with other student services agencies.
  11. Maintains liaison with professional, civic, volunteer, and other community agencies and groups having an interest in schools.
  12. Attends board meetings and prepares such reports for the board of trustees as the Executive Director may request.
  13. Evaluates the performance of administrative personnel in accordance with law, code, and board policy.
  14. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director and/or requested by the board of trustees.
  15. Provide leadership to professional staff.
  16. Developing Instructional Curriculum and programs.
  17. Liaison to civic, volunteer, and other community agencies.
  18. Develop/administer programs for appropriate student behavior.

HUMAN RELATIONS:

  1. Works cooperatively and enthusiastically with staff, administrators, and board members in achieving the schools’ educational goals.
  2. Assists in orients new staff to board of education policies and procedures.
  3. Exhibits professional and ethical attitudes and behaviors toward colleagues.

SCHOOL-WIDE EFFECTIVENESS:

  1. Implements required school regulations and administrative requests.
  2. Accepts responsibilities for the provision of a safe and clean environment.
  3. Contributes to the development and maintenance of staff morale.
  4. Establishes and maintains community confidence in the schools’ programs and efforts.
  5. Contributes/lends assistance to committees, staff meetings and/or individuals promoting school related activities.
  6. Demonstrates good attendance.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Annual performance review process and annual contract. Deadline to apply is April 15, 2025.
