We serve approximately 1225 students in grades 9-12 from the communities of Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Saddle River, and Upper Saddle River in one high school building.  Our District relies on a nine-member admin team [detailed here:  https://tinyurl.com/2kmy3787 ].  We employ 138 certificated and 44 non-certificated employees with a budget of about $36m.

We are looking for an accomplished educational leader with successful experience in strategic planning and execution, and who possesses a solid understanding of high school teaching & learning and college & career readiness that is both visionary and practical.  The Superintendent of Northern Highlands must be an approachable, engaged, and visible leader, who demonstrates clear and effective communication with staff, students, families, community stakeholders and the Board of Education.  We are looking for a collaborative but decisive leader who is fiscally responsible, experienced in negotiations, labor relations, and personnel evaluations.  Above all, our Superintendent must be committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students and staff in which all can learn, grow, thrive, and achieve at high levels.

NJ School Administrator Certificate or CE, and experience in a district-level or building-level leadership position   for 5 years or more required. Substantial secondary education experience strongly preferred; successful Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent experience highly desired.  Earned doctorate strongly preferred.  Teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level, strongly preferred.  Successful experience in a regional high school district preferred.

The Board of Education expects to offer a salary in the range of $215,000 to $255,000 and a competitive benefits package including sick leave, vacation days, personal days, health insurance, dental/vision insurance, and professional membership dues, to be determined. It is anticipated that the total compensation package will be regionally competitive and based on successful experience and education.
