The Haledon Board of Education invites qualified, visionary, and student-centered educational leaders to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools. Haledon Public School is a vibrant, urban, one-school district serving over 1,000 students from preschool through grade 8. Our diverse student population reflects a rich cultural community, with more than 50% of students speaking a second language at home. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and academically rigorous environment where all students can thrive.
The district offers a comprehensive educational program structured across three levels: Early Learning (PreK–K): Focus on school readiness, socialization, and foundational literacy and math skills. Elementary (Grades 1–5): Strong core instruction supported by enrichment in music, art, physical education, world languages, and technology. Middle School (Grades 6–8): Departmentalized instruction preparing students for high school, with continued emphasis on a well-rounded education.
Students continue their academic journey at Manchester Regional High School, alongside neighboring communities.
Qualifications:
- NJ School Administrator or Certificate of Eligibility required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in education preferred.
- Strong background in curriculum, instruction, and community engagement preferred.
- Administrative and Central Office experience preferred.
Salary: The Board of Education expects to offer a salary in the range of $175,000 to $200,000 and a competitive benefits package including sick leave, vacation days, personal days, health insurance, dental / vision insurance, life insurance, retirement contributions, professional membership dues, and travel expense reimbursements. It is anticipated that the total compensation package will be regionally competitive and based on successful experience and education. The initial contract will be for a multi-year period, as authorized by New Jersey statute.
