The Pleasantville Board of Education invites an innovative, student-centered, and community-driven educational leader to serve as its next Superintendent of Schools. The ideal candidate will be a visible, collaborative, and forward-thinking professional who inspires excellence, champions equity, and fosters meaningful connections among students, staff, families, and the community.

Pleasantville Public Schools is a culturally and economically diverse Pre-K through 12 district serving approximately 3,491 talented students, supported by 761 dedicated staff members, across six schools with an operating budget of more than $126 million.

Qualifications:

  • New Jersey School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility required.
  • Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Central Office administrative experience required.
  • Experience in a Pre-K–12 district required.
  • Demonstrated success in curriculum development, finance, facilities oversight, and community engagement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to leverage resources and opportunities to support student and faculty success.

Compensation:

The Board of Education expects to offer a salary in the range of $195,000 to $205,000, along with a competitive benefits package that may include sick leave, vacation days, personal days, health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, retirement contributions, professional membership dues, and reimbursement for travel expenses. The total compensation package is anticipated to be regionally competitive and will be based on the candidate’s experience and education. The initial contract will be for a multi-year term, as authorized by New Jersey statute
