The Pompton Lakes Board of Education seeks an exceptional educational leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools. The district serves approximately 1,700 students in grades K–12 and includes two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. Pompton Lakes Public Schools is recognized for its strong tradition of academic excellence, dedicated staff, and supportive community.

Pompton Lakes maintains a sending–receiving relationship with the neighboring borough of Riverdale, whose students attend Pompton Lakes High School. Together, the district is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment that promotes student achievement and well-being.

The Pompton Lakes Board of Education believes that in a complex and rapidly changing world, schools must equip students with the essential skills necessary to adapt to future challenges while supporting their intellectual, physical, and emotional development.

The Board seeks a visionary and collaborative leader who will champion student achievement, strengthen partnerships with families and the community, and guide the district in preparing students for success in a rapidly evolving world. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to educational excellence, effective communication, sound leadership, and the ability to inspire students, staff, and the broader community.

Qualifications:

  • NJ School Administrator or Certificate of Eligibility required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in education preferred.
  • Strong background in curriculum, instruction, and community engagement preferred.
  • Administrative and Central Office experience preferred.

Salary: The Board of Education expects to offer a salary in the range of $180,000 to $210,000 and a competitive benefits package including sick leave, vacation days, personal days, health insurance, dental / vision insurance, life insurance, retirement contributions, professional membership dues, and travel expense reimbursements. It is anticipated that the total compensation package will be regionally competitive and based on successful experience and education. The initial contract will be for a multi-year period, as authorized by New Jersey statute.
