NJSBA’s Student Film Showcase, sponsored by NETFLIX, will screen student films in true movie-theater style this year at Workshop 2026.

The event is designed to showcase student filmmaking talent while fostering a statewide conversation about building a strong talent pipeline from New Jersey schools into the rapidly growing film and television production industry.

The showcase includes 21 short films labeled, “Best of Fest,” which were submitted to the Garden State Film Festival.

The student films screen at 9:30am on Oct. 20 and 21 , and will be followed by a Student Film Showcase discussion by students and film/TV industry people.

New Jersey schools and colleges are rapidly expanding their TV and film curricula to prepare students for major industry developments, including the arrival of Netflix Studios at Fort Monmouth and the statewide boom in production. The NJSBA Workshop’s Student Film Showcase offers a platform to connect directly with educators and students and to highlight the exciting opportunities emerging across the Garden State.

Join a discussion on how we can collectively help make New Jersey high schools a talent pipeline for New Jersey’s growing film and television production industry.
