Legislation, (P.L. 2011, c.202), signed by Governor Christie on Jan.17, gives communities the option to change the date of the annual school board member election to November. Please check with your local board of education office to confirm the date of the 2012 Annual School Election in your community.

New Jersey's 2012 Annual School Election will take place on Tuesday, April 17, when approximately 1,500 school board seats will be on the ballot throughout the state.

For the convenience of school board secretaries and prospective candidates, NJSBA posts its annual Candidate Kit online, which provides resources for anyone considering running for their local school board. The package below can serve as an informational guide to school board candidacy.
