Patricia Rees, who began at the New Jersey School Boards Association as a county activities coordinator for the state’s northern 11 counties in 2015, has joined the field services department.

As a field service representative, she will facilitate member development through training and direct services to local boards of education. She will cover Middlesex, Union and Hudson counties.

“I am so excited to continue working more directly with board members and local boards,” she said. “My experiences not only as a board member but also as a staff member give me a unique perspective.”

As a county activities coordinator, Rees facilitated member development at the county level, planning in-person and virtual meetings.  In working with the county leaders, she selected topics and arranged for speakers at county meetings.

Before joining NJSBA, Rees served on the Branchburg Township Board of Education in Somerset County for 12 years.  She served as president, vice president and as a chair or member of every committee.

As a sending district of high school students, she also represented Branchburg on the Somerville Board of Education.  As a board member, she attended many NJSBA programs and became a Certified Board Member. She also was active at the county level, serving as vice president of the Somerset County School Boards Association and as an alternate delegate to NJSBA’s Board of Directors.

Rees earned a Master of Science degree in human resources management from Rutgers University; a Bachelor of Arts in history/political science from Douglass College and an Associate of Arts in liberal arts, general studies and humanities from Somerset County College. She lives in the Neshanic Station section of Branchburg.
