Since 1985, the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) and the New Jersey Association of Special Education Partner Schools (NJASEPS) have sponsored Special Education Week in New Jersey. This annual event recognizes the achievements of the state’s special education students, the dedication of their teachers, and the support provided by parents, school leaders, and communities.
As part of this year’s celebration, NJSBA and NJASEPS are proud to recognize three outstanding programs as recipients of the 2026 Innovations in Special Education Awards. These imaginative and impactful initiatives are helping students with special needs reach their full potential through creativity, inclusion, and educational excellence.
