To support the leadership and growth of New Jersey’s school board presidents and vice presidents, the New Jersey School Boards Association is proud to introduce NJSBA LEAD: Leadership Excellence and Development – an executive coaching service.
Tailored to the needs of school board leaders, this unique program offers one-on-one and group coaching opportunities to help bolster key leadership skills, including decision making, effective communication, conflict resolution, fostering a collaborative environment, and more.
Participants in NJSBA LEAD will be coached by Dr. Kimberley Markus, former New Jersey Commissioner of Education. A retired educator with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Markus provides executive coaching to K-12 education leaders and corporate leaders, and serves as a strategic advisor across K-12, higher education, EdTech, and state government sectors.
Dr. Markus is known for her work advocating for students and serving educators, parents, and community members. She believes that the student voice must be at the forefront of every conversation for students to grow academically, emotionally, and physically to reach their maximum potential.
Throughout her career, Dr. Markus has always maintained a focus on the importance of the cycle of teaching and learning, and its impact on improved outcomes for students. She continues to place an emphasis on building a strong climate and culture as a means of providing a solid foundation for sustainable progress, making a difference in children’s lives.
Dr. Markus will work with you and your school board through a tailored approach that will lead your district to success.
