Effective governance and dedication to student success took center stage at the Burlington County School Boards Association (BCSBA) meeting on May 14, where the Pemberton Township Board of Education was officially awarded the Carole E. Larsen Board Certification.

The presentation was given by NJSBA Field Service Representative Justin Wright, who worked side by side with the board to achieve this accomplishment.

Named in honor of the late NJSBA field service representative, the Carole E. Larsen Board Certification is a prestigious distinction that recognizes an entire school board’s commitment.  To earn the designation, all sitting members of the Pemberton board had to collectively invest in significant amount of time and go above and beyond the standard mandates to complete a rigorous process of professional development training, focusing on critical areas such as policy, school finance, labor relations, and effective team governance.

The certification underscores the board’s ability to work as a cohesive, strategic unit dedicated to high-functioning leadership. With this certification, the Pemberton leadership team joins a select group of boards across New Jersey that have demonstrated exemplary dedication to the art and science of school governance.

The New Jersey School Boards Association commends the Pemberton Township Board of Education for its leadership, teamwork, and steadfast service to the Pemberton community.

Representing the Pemberton Board of Education, the certified team includes Jeff Havers, Lionel Lee, Sheri Lowery, Vicky Adams, Robert Barney, Carmen Cristina Bivens, Robert King, Ceci Mammah, Sherry Scull, Lori Sheridan.
